Fjorden Sjokolade Tomatoe in 68% Dark Chocolate

Stavanger turns 900 years old in 2025, and this chocolate bar is one of our two official anniversary bars. The chocolate bar is a tribute to the culinary and international municipality of Stavanger.

The cacao we have chosen is from Madagascar, a country that many in Stavanger have a close relationship with. In Madagascar, you will also find Stavanger’s twin city, Antsirabe. Stavanger is Norway’s largest tomato-producing municipality, and we therefore chose to take on the challenge of combining cacao and tomato in our anniversary product. This is perhaps an unusual combination here in Norway, but not so unusual elsewhere in the world.

The tomatoes used are the delicious small Juanitas from Skavland nursery on Talgje. This is a beautiful pearl of an island in our municipality, and a nursery that produces incredibly good tomatoes. During the anniversary year, other tomato varieties will also make an appearance in these chocolate bars.
