Theo & Philo works with cocoa from the barangay Malabog, a community of about 11,000 inhabitants where small cocoa farmers grow the cocoa beans under perfect growing conditions. In 2019, Nong Joe from Malabog won the prize for the best cocoa beans in the world, out of 226 participants from 55 countries in the International Cocoa Awards (ICA). By sourcing the cocoa from a group of farmers in collaboration with the organization Gawad Kalinga, Philo Chua is helping people out of poverty.
