The cocoa beans for this chocolate are sourced from Kokoa Kamili in Tanzania, a producer known for its quality and commitment. The processing station is situated in the small village of Mbingu, a remote location accessible by a twelve-hour journey through dusty roads from Dar Es Salaam. Svenska Kakao has been in partnership with Kokoa Kamili since 2016, ensuring a consistent supply of premium beans.
This chocolate’s unique flavor profile has been internationally recognized, earning a silver medal at the World Chocolate (WC) and a bronze medal at the European Chocolate (EC) categories in the International Chocolate Awards in 2018.
